The Executive Exchange program pairs chamber members who have specific questions or challenges related to their businesses with local retired or semi-retired folks who have experience and knowledge in those areas and have volunteered to offer their expertise free of charge. The consulting service is limited only to chamber members. The duration and complexity of the consulting work will be at the discretion of the volunteer. Members who'd like to take advantage of the Executive Exchange program should contact the chamber at 826-9531 for more information.

PAUL KUERZI: Kuerzi retired in 2006 as vice president and general manager of Ellis Park thoroughbred race track in Henderson, a position he held for seven years. His tenure at Ellis capped a 40-year career in the racing industry that included administrative positions at Hoosier Park in Indianapolis, Sam Houston Race Park in Houston and Louisiana Downs in Bossier City. He also worked as a computer systems analyst from 1969 to 1976 for the Commonwealth Life, Western Pioneer Life and Kentucky Farm Bureau insurance companies.


A 1964 graduate of Bellarmine College, Kuerzi is a former chairman of the board of directors of the Henderson-Henderson County Chamber of Commerce, currently serves on numerous boards in the community and recently served a partial term as an appointed member of the Henderson City Commission.


Areas of expertise: Personnel administration, operational considerations, marketing and governmental relations.

 

 

 

 


CHARLES B. WEST: West is a member of the Henderson law firm of Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC. A practicing attorney in Henderson County since 1959, West joined Stoll Keenon Ogden in 2000 after six years with the Sheffer Hoffman law firm. Prior to that, West belonged to the firm of West, Gibbs and Overfield.


West graduated from University of Kentucky in 1951 with a degree in agricultural engineering. He first worked at Osburn Brush Co. as a quality control engineer.  He then joined International Harvester Company in Evansville to work on an Army ordnance research and development project. He then moved to the heavy truck axle and brake division of Eaton Corp. While working there, he attended night law school at the University of Louisville.

West served as Henderson City Attorney for 1962 through 1964. He has served as president the Henderson Industrial Foundation since 1963 and was a charter member of the Henderson Area Economic Development Council.

Areas of expertise: Management, manufacturing processes, liability,general business practices.



GERALD S. WISCHER: Wischer retired in 2006 as president and CEO of Ohio Valley National Bank in Henderson. Wischer came to Ohio Valley in 1987 from Peoples National Bank in Washington, Ind., where he also served as president. He began his career in 1965 as a national bank examiner.

A 1965 graduate of Thomas More College, Wischer also earned a degree from the University of Wisconsin's Graduate School of Banking. He is a former member of the board of directors of the Henderson-Henderson County Chamber of Commerce and has served on the boards of numerous other organizations.

JOAN HOFFMAN: Hoffman is a Henderson native who retired in 1995 after more than 30 years in education. The last seven years of her career were spent as vice principal at Henderson County High School. From 1999 to 2002 Hoffman served as mayor of Henderson and has also held the posts of interim executive director of the Henderson County Family YMCA and interim president of the Henderson-Henderson County Chamber of Commerce.


Hoffman is a graduate of Henderson Community College and the University of Kentucky and earned graduate degrees from both the University of Evansville and Murray State University. She serves on numerous local boards of directors and has been widely honored for achievements in both education and public service.
