To better know and understand the issues and challenges faced by its member businesses, The Chamber Works For You program offers members the chance to have chamber President Brad Schneider to spend half a day working side-by-side with their employees at their workplaces helping them do their normal jobs.

"What better way to learn about a business, its owner and its staff than jumping in and helping them do their work?" Schneider said. "The missions of the chamber are to provide information, services and advocacy for its members and the community. First-hand knowledge of what our members do on a day-to-day basis will help us do a better job in all three of those areas. We'll provide more relevant information, more useful services and more effective advocacy."

Schneider plans to write an online diary of his experiences in The Chamber Works For You program. The blog may also include photographs and perhaps video footage of his various assignments.

"It'll be our version of 'Dirty Jobs,'" Schneider said, referring to the popular television program. "Although I hope this doesn't become a competition among members to see how dirty a job than can get me to do. The point is to develop relationships and understanding. But, I'm up for just about anything."
