If you are a junior or senior in college and looking for a great internship in Henderson County, the chamber internship program is for you. Every year in December the chamber begins promoting the program to college juniors and seniors. Our goal is to have all students placed in an internship by the end of April.
Purpose To retain high quality students in Henderson upon graduation from college.
Who Typically a college junior (from the Henderson, Union & Webster County areas), during the school year or the summer between his/her junior and senior year.
Time Frame The intern will work for 6 to 8 weeks, depending on his/her school’s academic calendar and the student’s schedule. Most internships will be offered during the summer months.
When The Chamber will offer the Internship Program beginning in the spring. The sign up will begin in December and will continue through March. Determinations on internship placements will be made at the end of March or the beginning of April.
How The Chamber will act as a facilitator between the college student and the local employer. We will try to assign a student to a company offering a position in his/her chosen field or interest.
Cost There is absolutely no cost for applying for the program itself.
Earnings Participating employers will be asked to pay at least minimum wage. However, some employers may choose to offer a more competitive salary. Salary determination will be handled between the intern and the company.
